The Objective of the Employee Communication Policy:
Centel Media believes in proper communication among all of its employees at all different positions. In order to build strong and mutually beneficial relationships among our employees, we believe that communication is key. Regardless of whether the employees are on the board or they’re on a lower overall level, communication is to be practiced in the same manner. Communication can be verbal or written. Making telephone calls or writing emails are both good examples of this. Body language also plays a huge part among the workplace, because a majority of the communication between employees occurs within the workplace. Centel Media encourages a two-way flow of communication in order to increase efficiency. We don’t want any gaps among the communication of our employees, which is why we practice an open door policy in regards to communicating.
Communicating Downwards
There a number of systems used for communicating. In order to link all levels of the workplace, downward and upward communication are necessary. It is good for our senior management team to link all levels vertically and all functional groups horizontally. The senior management team mostly practices downward communication. It starts at the tops of the management line and works its way down to specialized employees, rank employees, and filing employees. Directing, instructing, informing, advising, and evaluating are all purposes of downward communication. This type of communication gives our employees an idea of Centel Media’s goals and policies.
Communicating Upwards
Feedback is the keyword with upward communication. Though this type of communication is slightly less common among businesses, it is equally as important as downward communication for Centel Media. We want to know what our employees think about certain policies and goals so we can create a work environment that satisfies all of our employees. We take part in group discussions and reports from the lower levels of management to know what is going on within in our company and whether or not anything requires adjusting.
The Open Door Concept
Centel Media practices and encourages an open door type of communication. All of our employees are encouraged to speak up and let those in higher management positions know if anything is wrong. Our team is mutually supportive of each other and doesn’t shut out anyone from speaking their mind. Centel Media will use bulletin boards and emails in order to promote human resource policies, awards, recreational events, training, and other similar matters.
Staff Suggestions
Centel Media takes all of our employee’s ideas in consideration. We enjoy listening to people’s ideas on improving our company. We know some people would feel uncomfortable to speak up in front of others, which is why we have created the suggestions box. This box will be in the same area as the bulletin board, so our management team can review the ideas and concerns of all of Centel Media’s employees.
